Aerosol Degreaser

ECOMATE 830

RAPID DRYING OIL & GREASE REMOVER

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ECOMATE 830 is a high purity solvent degreaser based on a blend of chemicals which result in a broad spectrum of cleaning applications and it is supplied in aerosol cans.

An aerosol spray is a type of dispensing system which creates an aerosol mist of liquid particles. The can contains a liquid under pressure and as such when the valve is opened, the liquid is forced out of a small hole and emerges as an aerosol or mist.

As gas expands to drive out the solvent blend, only some propellant evaporates inside the can to maintain an even pressure. Outside the can, the droplets of propellant evaporate rapidly, leaving the solvent blend suspended as very fine particles or droplets. These droplets deposits on the item to be cleaned thereby achieving the desired effect of cleaning substrates contaminated with oil, grease etc.

The concepts of aerosols goes as far back as the 18th century however the  first aerosol spray can was invented in Norway in November 23, 1927 by Erik Rotheim, a Norwegian chemical engineer. However it was not until 1941 that the aerosol spray can was first put to good use by Lyle Goodhue and William Sullivan, who are credited as the inventors of the modern spray can. Their design of a refillable spray can dubbed the “bug bomb”, was patented in 1943, and is the ancestor of many popular commercial spray products.

The Ecomate 830 aerosol has a strong forceful blast and has been specifically formulated as a rapid air drying degreaser for use where high performance is required. The product finds widespread application within the engineering sector as an alternative to conventional chlorinated/fluorinated solvents, particularly for the removal of dirt, oils, grease, grime and other stubborn soils from a variety of substrates. The product is applied directly to the soiled surface with the can held as close as possible to the area to be cleaned and will displace water, oils, grease, etc. to leave a dry residue-free surface. It is an ideal product for use within the aerospace, gas turbine, and other high specification engineering operations.

Major benefits include:

Fast evaporation

Non-corrosive to metals and most plastics

Powerful flushing action which removes grease and grime

Dries residue free

Ecomate 830 can also be used on electrical components such as starters, current breakers, switches etc.  In electrical applications components should be allowed to dry completely before applying any current.
